activities --> wapta --> cost What will it cost? Other than your travel costs, food and any equipment that you need to rent, the only costs will be for the ACC huts we will be staying at and for Parks Canada Wilderness Passes. The cost for the huts should be in the vicinity of $40 per person. Because of changes to the ACC's reservation system, the hut space will be paid for several months prior to the trip so I will be contacting each of you for your hut fees to hold your space shortly after I pay for the huts myself. Your hut fees will be refunded in total if you have to drop out, as long as another participant can be found to take your place. The Wapta and Waputik Icefields are within Banff National Park. Anyone staying overnight in the backcountry in the National Parks requires a Wilderness Pass. These can be obtained from the ACC in Canmore; if you will be doing more backcountry camping in the National Parks during the year, the most economical way is to purchase an Annual Wilderness Pass. This costs $39 per person for ACC members and $42 per person for non-members. These passes are available from the ACC Clubhouse in Canmore. If you pay for the backcountry camping by the night, it will cost you $6/night. For 3 nights, that's $18.
