Frozen Gopher Challenge

A winter adventure over the snow and ice in Saskatoon, where your team wants to get to the finish line first.
Teams will travel by foot, ski, skate, and snowshoe throughout the city on a point to point course while facing numerous challenges. The team to get through all of the stages and challenges first is the winner.

Team Meeting: 10:15 a.m.
Start Time: 10:30 a.m.
Completion Time: ~ 2 to 4 hours
Awards 2:30 pm
Teams may be male, female, or co-ed teams of 2 or 3. Solo racers may also enter.
Prizes are awarded to the top teams. All racers are eligible for draw prizes. Post race snacks will be provided.
Approximate Race Distances:
Running: 5 km
Skating: 2 km
Skiing: 3 km
Snowshoeing: 2 km
Entry fees:
$20/person ($30/person after Friday, February 4th).
$5 discount for current ACC members.

General Gear
- Ice skates (any kind)
- Cross-Country Skiing Gear

- Snowshoes
- 20 pairs of snowshoes have been obtained for the race and are available for racers. Racers who own snowshoes are encouraged to bring them if possible.

All gear (skis and skates) will be transported by race organizers to where they are required. Teams are encouraged to provide means to keep their skates and skiing gear together to facilitate transport and make it easier for teams to find their gear at each stage.
- Skates and skis will be going to different locations and should be organized accordingly.
- Racers are encouraged to label or use identifying marks on gear.
- Suggestions:
- Bag(s) to hold skates and ski boots
- Means of attaching skis and poles together (i.e. tape or straps).
- Personal snowshoes should also be labeled.
Forbidden Gear and Actions
- Maps not provided by race management
- Any mode of transportation not authorized by organizers
- Using GPS or Smartphone devices for navigation
