Belay Expressions
Gleaned from the postings on rec.climbing:
- Let me get my belay knife out
- "Interesting"
- At least one side is nearly vertical
- Umm...like I'm back now. Should I tie in or something?
- Watch me. (Inexperienced climbers will misinterpret this command; the experienced will know what it means).
- I wouldn't laugh. You get the next lead.
- OK, the anchor's cleaned. Now what?
- You want me to come up there and lead it?
